On May 30, 2017, we broke ground on a cutting edge facility that will offer programs to reduce recidivism by teaching vocations such as truck driving, carpentry, aircraft engineering and sheet metal working. We are also offering High School Diploma programs, legal support, mental health support and veteran’s affairs support just to name a few. This facility should be completed in early 2019. Over the last six years, my administration has been working tirelessly to devise a comprehensive plan to fund a $23.4 million SB1022 grant and address the various needs of our community which were brought forth by “Realignment” and AB 109. When the ground broke, we took one step closer to this project coming to fruition. A project unlike any other in the state, which was one of thirteen to procure funding from the State of California with both SB1022 and AB900 funding; setting Solano County up for a positive future. Strong vision and leadership has proven to be what is best for our county, when our county needs it most.
